Karumi is the Japanese word for "lightness". The famous Japanese poet Basho used it to mean "the beauty of ordinary things spoken of in a simple way".
Nice image. My mil gave my dd a teacup and saucer from the 40s. I think it was her Great-Aunt's. I bought one of those wooden stands that hold the saucer upright and the cup goes in front. Your poem reminded me of that.
